About Us

Slow Wi-Fi, a switch that drops connections, a cable that never hits its rated speed. We have all bought networking gear that looked great on the listing and disappointed on the desk. NetworkingKits exists so you can skip that part.

We help homeowners, gamers, home lab builders and small business owners choose networking gear that works the first time: switches, Ethernet cables, crimpers, testers, connectors and everything in between. No hype, no paid rankings, just clear answers.

Why we started

Search for "best network switch" and you will find page after page of lists that read like they were written from product titles. Many never mention the things that actually matter: whether a cable is pure copper or cheap copper-clad aluminium, whether a PoE switch has enough power budget for your cameras, or whether a "Cat8" cable meets any standard at all.

Our team has spent more than ten years running cable, crimping connectors, punching down patch panels and fixing slow networks in homes and offices. We built NetworkingKits to share that knowledge in plain English, so you can make a confident decision in minutes instead of hours.

What makes us different

We read the bad reviews

Star ratings only tell part of the story. We dig into the 1 to 3 star reviews to find patterns like dead ports, overheating, loose crimps or testers that give false passes. A product with a high rating but a repeating failure problem does not make our list.

We match gear to real people

There is rarely one "best" product for everyone. Every pick gets a clear Best for label, so a gamer, a home lab builder and a small office can each find the right choice without wading through specs they do not need.

We explain the why

Our buying guides do not just tell you what to buy. They explain what to look for, so you understand the difference between a managed and unmanaged switch, Cat6 and Cat6a, or a continuity tester and a certifier, and can spot a bad deal on your own.

What we cover

Our promise to you

  • Honesty first. If a popular product has a real weakness, we say so, even if it is a best seller.
  • No fake reviews, ever. We do not invent testing, quotes or user reviews.
  • Clear disclosure. We tell you exactly how we make money, on every page.
  • Fast corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the guide.

How we make money

NetworkingKits is reader-supported. When you buy through a link on our site, Amazon may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. That income pays for research and keeps the site free and ad-light. Commissions never decide our rankings: we earn the same whichever product you choose.
